For the daredevils
Have you ever been on a high-rise observation deck, peering through a fence at the stunning view below? What if, instead of simply looking, you could step onto a swing and be pulled over the edge, soaring towards that incredible vista?
I was part of the NorthernLight creative team when we turned this adventurous idea into a reality, designing and delivering the spectacular swing ride for the A'DAM Tower in Amsterdam.
the visitor journey
Furthermore, we have designed a complete visitor journey at the A'DAM Tower, with the swings serving as the main attraction.
Visitors start on the ground floor and take a mesmerizing audiovisual elevator ride up to the 20th floor, where they can explore an interactive exhibition, VR touchscreens, and a projection-mapped city model. Finally, on the 21st floor, the swings are situated.
an iconic project
The project was completed during my employment at creative design agency NorthernLight, and it remains one of my proudest accomplishments from that time.
Since its opening in 2016, the swings continue to capture visitors' attention directly from the ferry at Central Station, inviting them to experience the delightful and unexpected charm of the A'DAM Tower.
Other components of the project, like the spectacular elevator ride, also remain popular among visitors and are frequently featured in social media posts.
